Colombia Cromática

El Hilo del Mar

Isolated from the Andes, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta traces a thread from the warm Caribbean Sea to its ice-capped peaks. The world’s highest coastal mountain range rises 5700 meters (18700 feet) above the Colombian Caribbean coast.

La Sierra is the most irreplaceable ecosystem on planet Earth according to Science magazine. It is home to all of Colombia’s climatic ecosystems, which is why its guardians, the Kogi, Ika, Wiwa and Kankuamo indigenous peoples, call it “the heart of the world”.
